Meditation Retreat with Lisa McKhann

Putting aside our duties, responsibilities, and social engagements for a period of time can be a powerful support for the deepening of insight and for touching into deeper states of calm and peace. Join together for a peaceful morning of guided meditation, talks on mindful awareness and compassion, and gentle movement. We will hold what’s called “noble silence” (only necessary talking) for the time, a respite from conversation and phones. Teachings are based in Theravada or Insight Meditation. We’ll practice mindfulness of the breath and body, of thoughts and emotions. No experience is necessary. Our session is led by Lisa McKhann, a recent graduate of a two-year meditation teacher training program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield; she also has training in soma yoga (200-level from Yoga North).
