As we enter our second year of quarantine, here are some ideas of how you can celebrate 17. mai at home!

Celebrate at Home
Since we can’t celebrate in person, celebrate at home! Wave a Norwegian flag and have a barnetog (parade) around the house. Don’t have a flag? Make one with this free printable!
Eat Like a Norwegian
Have some pølse (hot dogs) and iskrem (ice cream) like the Norwegians do on 17. mai! Want to try something new? Instead using a hot dog bun, try making lumpe, or small potato cakes.
Get Out Into Nature
Norwegians love to get out into nature and gå på tur (go hiking). Take a walk around your neighborhood or find a new hiking trail.
Participate in Online Celebrations
There are many online 17. mai celebrations you can partake in. Check out the Norway House and Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum websites for more info!
