This exhibition features contemporary Swedish folk paintings by Alison Aune. Alison has studied traditional dalmålningar from Dalarna, with its characteristic floral kurbits (fantastical gourd flowers), and figurative bonadsmåleri from Småland and Halland. From her studies in Sweden she has reinterpreted these artistic traditions using her unique color palette and artistic style. In this way she celebrates the intersection of art, design, and cultural heritage.
