Arna has returned to the source of her inspiration as aplein air painter in Bøverdalen, a valley in Northern Gudbrandsdalen where she spent seven summers working at the traditional Hotel Roisheim. During this time, Arna listened eagerly to stories of local history, folklore, folk music and learned to dance. The surroundings held a sense of timelessness with the powerful presence of unchanging mountains, farms dating back to the middle-ages, continuity of culture and lifestyle. But first and foremost, the dense, rich, ever-changing colors and atmospheric effects on the familiar faces of the mountains in this valley have inspired Arna’s desire to capture the nuances to her canvas.
