For our next novel, we are transported to an island in northwest Norway. The Unseen, written by Roy Jacobsen and published in 2013, is the first volume of a trilogy that depicts the life of the Barrøy family on the small island of Barrøy. The novel is both subtle and compelling, and Jacobsen tells his story with great respect for the people and culture of the island north. The Unseen has received high praise and was shortlisted for the 2017 International Man Book Prize and the 2018 International Dublin Literary Award. Roy Jacobsen debuted in 1982.
