A Short play Restauration: The Norwegian Mayflower
What are we celebrating? The 200th Anniversary of the first organized Norwegian immigration to America – the day the small ship Restauration arrived in the New York City harbor in 1825.
As one of many nation-wide and international events which will mark that day, we are hosting a community gathering at the Nordic Center. Together we will hear the stories of some of the first brave families of Norwegian immigrants, early arrivals in the flow of Nordic families coming to America. We are organizing a fun history-rich evening, featuring a staged reading of the short play Restauration: The Norwegian Mayflower. In this one-hour informal performance, readers will each take roles, reading from the script to share the story with an audience. Please join us!
We need you to volunteer for our celebration October 9, 2025.
Help us make this a successful community-wide event.
